The bestfriend’s role

Strange. Really strange.

Losing balance and losing faith.

Been a month of a perplexed state.

Struggling to solve a vexed mystery.

Missing pieces, broken wings.

Imprisoned by my own sins.

Trying to prove nothing.

Questioning just about everything.

She told me I should stop.

The analysis paralysis.

And the way I position the lens.

Each time it focuses on me, it’s all blurry.

If not blurry, it’s small.

I feel small.

But my bestfriend thinks otherwise.

Said I should believe in myself more.

No one delivers it any better.

She’s genuine. She’s pure.

I trust her.

And it’s good.

To find someone you can share whatever.

So I told her I couldn’t write no more.

Stained drafts and damaged thoughts.

Numb heart and restless soul.

Ruined by the mundane chores.

Distracted by deadlines.

Saddened by unmet goals.

Running towards nearly closing doors.

She leaned closer.

And listened to my endless confusion.

She knew me pretty well.

She heard this.

A thousand times before.

Never did she judge at all.

She knows when to play the role.

Of a bestfriend.

A sister.

Not by blood but by choice.

She then told me things.

All of them weigh more than a ton.

Full of substance and a strong core.

Words that has enlightened me.

Granted me power to remember my gift.

So I put justice to it.

Albeit rather short and quick.

Breaking rules of grammar and wit.

I don’t care.

I know this will be the beginning of it.

Of more assembled ideas.

To form more organized creations.

A reborn artist.

A writer rising from the dead.

Inspired by the bestfriend.

The end.

“So I told her I couldn’t write no more.” We all feel this way, Apple. Best advice I’ve received recently is: “When you’re tired, don’t quit. Rest.” Beautifully penned poem. I believe in you. You’ve got it! I always looks forward to your writing.

What would the world be like without true friends? We need them as our mirror to readjust the image we see until the eyes are bright and the smile looking back is the person our friend told us was there. The one we have such a struggle to see. Loved this poem. It’s so apt for us creative types. 🙂

“I don’t know what I’d do without you from the beginning to the end. You’ve always been here right beside me, so I’ll call you my best best friend.” I loved this Apple, a personal write from the heart of how best friends are, they don’t give up and they accept that role of best friend, teacher, counsel and family member by choice. This was so touching, at times when our ship stops, they are the wind behind our sails. You’re the same way to people here and that’s why you have support here too. And this poem you wrote about your best friend is a testament that you can never give up, your talent shows that she knows best. Great job.🌹

And btw…why u always mentioning that? I kinda feel the pressure now 😅😅😱😱
But yes, there’s a book. But I have no time for it this summer lol I’m not a full time writer 🙂 when the rain will come…and the cold – then I’ll get back to it 🙂 I’ll send around or publish it only if I think it’s good enough. Maybe if I took 8 month OFF the blogging – I’d finish the editing 😂😂. But I prefer just live and enjoy the present. The book or not the book – doesn’t matter right now 🙂
And really great texts (2 parts) – enjoyed it💙💙
